Pentecost

The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost

2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Our church family celebrated a wonderful Pentecost service this Sunday. The presence of the Holy Spirit was tangible. He was touching the hearts of His people.

When we look back to the original day of Pentecost we see a similar infilling. Lives were changed, hearts were being touched. Transformation is the business of the Holy Spirit.

Do any of us really want to stay the same? Yielding our lives to the Holy Spirit allows that change to occur. Yes, it can be an act of obedience, but if we do it with a joyful heart we are sure to reap the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

He is called our Promise, our Comforter, our Teacher, our Advocate and many more names. There is so much the Holy Spirit does for us. It's hard to understand why people wouldn't want Him in their lives.

So today, I invite you to accept the Holy Spirit into your life. You don't have to be in the church house to do this. You can be sitting in your home. He is gentle. He wants a relationship with you. He is waiting for you to say "YES" to Him. He's a gentlemen. He won't barge into your life. I promise it will be the best "YES" you will ever make.

Happy Pentecost!
