(Matthew 28: 19-20)
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Missionary Sunday was celebrated today at Real Family Church. We had a lovely couple come and share their hearts with us for the nation of Japan. They are itinerating to raise funds to return in the fall of this year. They have already spent a two year tenure there. Their hearts long to return to the nation the Lord has placed in their hearts.
I am grateful that we can be a sending church. We may not be able to go to Japan ourselves, but there are other things we can do to help support the cause. We can pray for this family and we can help them financially meet their goal. This is what "SENDING" means to me.
But what if God hasn't called you to the other side of the pond? Discipleship starts at home. Sharing the gospel starts with your family, your neighbor, your friend, your co-worker and so on. Jesus clearly gives His disciples a mandate before He leaves this earth. He tells them to make disciples. This has to be first. Without discipleship there is no church. Without the church there is no multiplication.
Today, you may not be called to the nation of Japan, but God IS calling you somewhere. For most of us, it is right in our own backyard. Who can you reach out to today & share the love of Jesus with them? It could be a matter of life or death to that person. As disciples of Christ, He is calling you to GO!
